The DJI Phantom 3 Advanced was first released in April 2015. The Advanced was a mid-range quadcopter offering from DJI featuring an optimized version of DJI’s Lightbridge technology, enhanced flight stability and the ability to shoot stabilized 2.7K video (the Pro version of the Phantom 3 was able to shoot 4K).
The Phantom 3 Advanced also offered a range of other professional-grade features such as automated flight modes (Active Track, Orbit and Waypoint), vision positioning technology and the ability to be controlled from a mobile device using the DJI GO app.
The Phantom 3 Advanced was discontinued in 2017 when the Phantom 4 was released. However, the Advanced remains popular among hobbyists, offering a mid-range alternative in DJI’s Phantom series.
