The DJI Smart Controller is powered by a rechargeable 5000mAh lithium polymer battery. Depending on usage and settings, battery life can range from 2.5 to 5.5 hours. If the battery charge level is low but not completely empty, the device will alert you and you can recharge it before powering the device off and enabling the battery to remain above a certain charge level. This will prevent battery damage caused by completely draining it, which is not advised.
To achieve optimal battery life, it is recommended to turn off the brightness of the monitor, reduce the volume of the speaker, and use earphones or headphones when listening to media. Turn off backlight illumination when not in use. For longer battery life, you can also turn off the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS functions.
Recharging the DJI Smart Controller can be accomplished using its included charger, which takes about 2 hours for a full charge. With the correct charger setup, you can also recharge the controller with a USB adapter or power bank.
